City close to striker dealAndy Cole is close to agreeing a deal to extend his contract at Man City by another season.
City manager Stuart Pearce told the Daily Express: "The contract has been agreed with his agent; all it needs is his signature.
"Andy has been a good man to have around. He has done well for us. He is a good influence on the young players and he wants to stay another season."
He added: "He is hoping to go into coaching - and if he wants to do any work with the senior players here then I'm happy to let him do it.
"The same applies to any of my senior players. People gave me a leg-up when I started coaching, and I'm happy to do the same."
