Carew blasted by former clubLyon adviser Bernard Lacombe has slammed the ability of new Aston Villa striker John Carew following his January move from the Ligue 1 Champions.
He said: "John wasn't always the best when it came to reading the game. He was a bit too static,"
"He would be slow getting to the ball, so he'd use his arms to prevent his opponents getting there ahead of him.
"Lyon are a team who work like hell in every training session and play to win every game - and there was sometimes a difference between John and the rest of the team."
