The former West Ham United and Portsmouth boss moved to boost his attack in the January transfer window by taking the Senegal international on loan from his parent club Wolves.
The African hit-man spent the first half of the season on loan at Celtic before deciding to move south and help The Saints with their quest to survive relegation this season.
Redknapp has been delighted with the impact that the former Sedan player has made since arriving on the South Coast in January and admitted: "I don't bring in loan players I wouldn't want to keep and that's certainly true of this lad.
"I want him here permanently."
