Bramble fit to returnNewcastle will receive a massive boost this week by the return to fitness of central defender Titus Bramble.
Bramble has been out of action for a month after undergoing a hernia operation in March but has made a quicker than expected recovery and has his sights on playing against Sporting Lisbon in the Uefa Cup on Thursday.
He said: "It is my first day back today - hopefully I will get through it no problem and be fit for selection on Thursday,
"Injury wise, it is going okay and as long as there are no problems with the groin, I will be okay.
"It takes four to six weeks for a hernia to heal and it was four weeks yesterday, so it is as I expected."
