Bowyer too pricey

Newcastle bad boy Lee Bowyer’s £40,000- a-week wage demands saw him priced out of a move back to Charlton.

Bowyer was told by club officials that he could leave Newcastle on a free transfer and was lined up to replace Danny Murphy at Charlton.

However, the midfielder could not agree personal terms with the club and is now left in limbo at St James' Park.
