Bowyer delighted with HammersFormer England international Lee Bowyer has expressed his happiness to be wearing a West Ham shirt once more and revealed his desire to stay at the club for the rest of his career.
He said: "I realise there must have been people out there who doubted me and believed that my best days were behind me,"
"But I always knew that I could play well in The Premiership. As soon as Alan Pardew said he was interested in bringing me back to West Ham, there was no way I was going to turn it down.
"I saw it as a chance to put things right and show the West Ham fans what I am actually capable of. I know I didn't do myself justice during my last spell at West Ham. I was injured when I arrived and carried on playing despite not being fit.
"So, I didn't do myself any favours and, with the situation as it was at the time, the whole thing was very disappointing. I'm just glad to get another chance to show what I can do here."
When asked if he would be happy to spend the rest of his playing days at the club Bowyer replied saying: "That would be the ideal scenario,"
"To finish my career on a high note at Upton Park.
"In order to do that I realise I've got to play well and prove that I can be a good asset to the team. I think it is going to be a good season for us."
