Bouma tipped to be terrificUnder-fire Newcastle defender Jean Alain Boumsong has been backed by boss Graeme Souness, who's tipped the Frenchman to be a 'terrific player' for the Magpies.
The £8million signing from Glasgow Rangers has been responsible for a number of goals conceded by the North East club this season, but Souness is confident in the former Auxerre star.
However Souness insisted: "I am delighted with him,
"I think he is, and will be a terrific player for this club for a long time to come given his age.
"He has snuffed out Drogba and Henry in a very short space of time, and he had a bit of a stinker in the second half against Manchester United.
"But I would not be too hard on him over the Fulham game because as a defensive unit, we were very poor. We were poor because we had Steven Taylor, who can play right-back but is not entirely happy there, and we had a player coming back for his very first game since last season in Titus Bramble.
"He obviously was not ready, but because of the injuries we had, we felt that was our best formation.
"But for Jean-Alain, that is what big players do. They bounce back quickly, they do not dwell on things, and I am sure he will do that."
