Boro initiate Boateng talksMiddlesbrough has started new contract talks with George Boateng according to boss Steve McClaren.
The Dutch midfielder has just one more season left on his present contract, and the Teessiders are keen to tie him down to a new one.
The 30-year-old has injected real steel back into Boro's engine-room, and McClaren admits initial contact has been made with a view to thrashing out terms.
He said: "George has been a great success,
"He enjoys it here and that's why we're starting to talk."
