Blades hit-man: I've a point to proveNew Sheffield United striker Jon Stead says he is eager to silence all his critics now that he has is back in the Premiership.
Stead, who netted for the Blades during their 2-0 victory over Fulham said: "I've a point to prove, I know that,"
"I know I progressed very quickly but then took backward steps - which nobody wants to do in their career - and that has been very frustrating.
"But this is a new lease of life for me, a time to progress again, and I feel I'm getting back to some of my best football.
"Now is the time to push on and improve even more."
He continued: "When you join a new club you want to get off the mark as soon as possible,"
"Although I've been pleased with how I've played in the last three games, it was important to get that one in.
"I wanted to give the supporters confidence as well as for myself, to show I can score goals at this level.
"It's hard for a striker when you are not scoring. People start chipping in and telling you what you should be doing.
"It's a case of knuckling down and doing what you know got you the goals in the past."
