Blackburn star to have surgery

Welsh international midfielder Robbie Savage has dismissed reports that he will not be ready for the start of the new season after undergoing knee surgery last week.

Savage said: "The last time I had something like that done I was back again within nine days, so I fully expect to be ready for the start of pre-season training next month."
