Blackburn star set for returnBlackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is hoping midfield star David Thompson will be able to resume first-team training within a fortnight.
The knee injury that kept him out much of the last campaign resurfaced in pre-season but the 27-year-old has now ended his visits to a German specialist and the club are crossing their fingers he could feature in The Premiership before the end of the month.
Executive chairman John Williams said "David's doing well and he's well on with his rehabilitation programme,
"He's finished his visits to Germany now, where he was seeing a specialist, and the medical staff are very pleased with how he's progressing.
"It's hoped that he may be ready to resume training again the week after next, which would be a big boost for Mark [Hughes] and his coaching staff."
