Birmingham in striker doubtAfter having to be withdrawn because of a groin problem at half-time during Wednesday's Carling Cup triumph over Norwich, Birmingham striker Emile Heskey has spelt out his determination to be fit for Saturday's bottom-three Premiership clash with Everton at St Andrews.
Heskey said: "My groin started to get a bit tight against Norwich and then just got worse and worse.
"But it was just a precaution that brought me off and we will see how it settles down in the next couple of days.
"I am hopeful for Saturday and I always want to play. Saturday is a massive game for us.
"We've been going through a difficult time and there is no hiding away from that fact.
"But we want to pull away from the bottom part of the table and with two wins things can quickly turn around.
"We know how important Saturday is, with Everton being below us, but we hope we can take a leaf from the Norwich victory."
