Big Sam backs veteran SpeedBolton manager Sam Allardyce has backed 39-year-old midfielder Gary Speed to continue playing at the highest level for many years to come.
Allardyce said: “He’s a remarkable man.
“Gary’s a Teddy Sheringham mark two, yet old Teddy never ran around as much. Gary is still running as much as pros 10 years younger than him.
“That’s the remarkable thing about Gary. Whereas Teddy kept himself fit, he has never had to use that side of his game.
“Gary still has the lot, experience, intelligence, skill and stamina.”
