Big Sam admits Real Madrid moveBolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that he in an attempt to sign Real Madrid defender Ivan Helguera in the summer.
He said: "It was all sorted out and in the end the player had a change of mind,"
"It was a very close call going into the last hour or so and sadly the player declined in the end after everything was done.
"There are many things that happen and you think you are there, you sort out all the financial problems first and foremost.
"Then all of a sudden the player has a change of mind so it gets very very disappointing and of course in our past history we're used to those disappointments and we have to take them on the chin and move on."
