Beattie wants England recallJames Beattie still reckons he can force his way into Sven Goran Eriksson's World Cup plans.
The Everton striker has been banished to the international wilderness over recent months but he still hopes that, if he maintains his present form, the England coach will demonstrate that he is gone but not forgotten.
He told The Sunday Times: "I haven't given up hope of going to Germany. If I keep playing the way I am at the moment, and start scoring goals like I know I can, it could happen,
"I'm just going to keep my head down, play well for Everton and see what comes of it. If I go on one of my scoring runs, it will be hard for Mr Eriksson to ignore me.
"Well, it might not be that hard, but at least I'll put myself back in the frame."
