Beattie hears the fansEverton striker James Beattie reckons he is beginning to prove his worth to the Goodison Park faithful following Sunday's matchwinner against Middlesbrough.
Beattie scored a 10th minute header from an Andy van der Meyde cross and said afterwards: "We just said to ourselves that we didn't want to lose any more,
"We were intent on one massive effort to try to get a winning streak - we were determined to show people what we are about.
"Losing can become a habit, it's a terrible habit to have. But winning can become a habit too, so let's hope we have got ourselves into a winning habit now and we can carry on with this form."
He added: "I was pointing to my ear because I wanted the fans to know I'd heard them,
"Some of the fans have been having a bit of a go, saying `come on Beats, get us a goal' so I have tried my best and I was just saying to them that I had heard the comments, and was that goal all right for them.
"It was a great ball in from Andy and with that sort of delivery all I have to do is get my head onto the ball. It was a tremendous team performance, that is what Everton can do."
