Barca close on van Bommel

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Mark van Bommel appears destined to snub a more to the Premiership in favour of a transfer to Primera Liga giants Barcelona at the end of the season.

Catalan radio station RAC-1 has confirmed van Bommel will almost certainly join the side next season after agreeing to a pre-contract recently leaving coach Frank Rijkaard pleased with the big name capture.
