Addicks in for former Chelsea star

Charlton Athletic is set to table a bid to sign former Leeds, Chelsea and Middlesbrough forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

The lethal Dutchman was all set to move to Parkhead with Celtic but now looks likely to be playing in the Premiership again next season.

New boss Ian Dowie has already released Jay Bothroyd, Francis Jeffers, Shaun Bartlett and Jonatan Johansson this summer and is looking to bolster his striking options at The Valley.
