Spurs need £10million to net starTottenham will have to make a bid around the £10million mark if they are to net West Bromwich Albion star Curtis Davies this summer.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray knows he faces a battle to keep the promising defender but will not allow him to leave the club on the cheap.
He said: "I have had a conversation with Curtis and he's sensible enough to realise the price has got to be right for us to even consider letting him go.
"He is someone I admire as a player and a person. He's the club captain and I would very much like him to stay at West Brom and lead the team next season.
"I've always said I only want players here who want to play for the club but that doesn't mean to say we're going to let players walk away.
"In the past 12 months precedents have been set whereby defenders have moved for big fees and we rate Curtis very highly."
