Baggies star: There is too much qualityWest Bromwich Albion star Kevin Phillips believes the team has too much quality to miss out on promotion this season.
"I don't want to have to come here (Wembley) again. We were in the same dressing room as last year and we have ended up losing by the same score," said Phillips following the Baggies narrow 1-0 loss to Portsmouth in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
"But I think we will use this to our advantage and become even more focused on winning automatic promotion. That is what I'll be doing, and I'm sure the other lads will be as well.
"There won't be a hangover from this. There is too much quality in the squad and too much determination in the squad to let it happen.
"We haven't suffered one this season after losing the play-off final last year and I think it will be the same again.
"Losing (the semi-final) is history now. The focus immediately turns to trying to secure promotion back to the Premier League and Tuesday night and a difficult trip to Blackpool.
"We are in a healthy position in the Championship and that is far more important to me - having another crack at the Premier League - than dwelling on what might have been in the cup."
Phillips added: "We want to be playing the likes of Portsmouth week in, week out and testing ourselves against those types of players week in, week out.
"We have showed that we are a match for Premier League sides with the performance against a strong Portsmouth side that are sixth in the league. We are not a million miles away."
