Pires wants Chelsea transferFormer Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires is hoping his current club Villareal can complete a move for Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele this summer.
"If tomorrow, Villarreal can sign Claude Makelele, that would be a great opportunity regarding next season," said Pires.
"If the directors asked me about it, I would tell them to sign him immediately.
"He would be a good signing for Villarreal. If he came, he would be spectacular because he is an intelligent player who has a lot of experience.
"Although his age has been spoken about, with what he did here in La Liga and also with Chelsea, he is demonstrating that he is a very important player.
"If Claude calls me and asks things of me about Villarreal, I am going to say to him, 'Mira, if you can come here, you have to come because here you have everything and, in addition, we do not have pressure'. That, for a player, is very important."
