Argentina star: I rejected Red Devils

South American playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme has claimed that he rejected a move to Manchester United at the start of the season.

Riquelme, who is currently at Boca Juniors, told the News of the World: "Ferguson came to see me at the hotel we were staying in on the eve of our Champions League game against Arsenal,"

"But I'm devoted to my family and it would be a problem to take my kids to a country where they do not speak the language."
