Yorke inspires historic victorySydney FC star Dwight Yorke led his side to victory in the inaugural A-League championship yesterday.
The Sydneysiders defeated the Central Coast Mariners 1-0 in the grand final at Aussie Stadium.
Yorke, who was man-of-the-match, was instrumental in the winning goal as he toyed with three defenders before setting up former Wolves midfielder Steve Corica who stroked the ball home.
The former Manchester United star said: "We needed to stand up and be counted for and the main players came up with the goods,
"I realised I had to stamp my authority on the game."
Goalscorer Corica added: "I've had a long career, 15, 16 years, and this has to be my favourite moment."
