Former Spurs star makes Cats moveSunderland have officially signed midfielder Andy Reid from Charlton Athletic in a £4million deal.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane said: "Andy brings added quality to our side in an area that I felt needed to be strengthened."
He added: "It's always healthy to have competition for places in the squad.
"I'm sure he'll do well for the club.''
Charlton boss Alan Pardew confirmed: "A fee has been agreed and Andy Reid is talking to Sunderland.
"It was a difficult decision, but we have to look at ourselves and say 'are we going to let this affect us or will this make us stronger'? Hopefully, the latter will happen.''
