City star arrestedAfter being arrested on suspicion of assisting illegal entry into Britain, Stoke city record signing Sambegou Bangoura is facing a police probe.
The £950,000 striker was seized as he stepped off a flight from Brussels last week.
Guinea international Bangoura, 23, was questioned by officers at Nottingham East Midlands Airport before being freed on police bail until next month. The investigation concerns a third party.
Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said Bangoura would continue to help police with their inquiries, adding: "He has not, however, been charged."
A club spokesman said: "The inquiries, which are ongoing, will not affect the player's place in manager Johan Boskamp's squad."
