Figo: We played badlyPortuguese winger Luis Figo has admitted that his club Inter Milan were well below par in the 1-0 defeat at Sporting Lisbon.
“We played badly, but at the same time, we mustn't make a drama out of it,” said Figo
“It’s better to lose now when we still have the chance to recover than later on when a defeat could jeopardise everything.
“But this is no justification. We must learn from our mistakes and admit that tonight we weren't the team that won the Super Cup and started well in the League,”
“It is right to give credit to Sporting too, they are a good team who played an excellent match by preventing us from playing our best football."
Defender Fabio Grosso added: "We didn't play like we can and in the end the result punished us,"
"Unfortunately we have to accept the blame. We will now look ahead and try to do well in our next matches.
He added: "Is a player content with winning a World Cup? Absolutely not. I am in a great team and I want to achieve the important results this club deserves,”
