Cameroon star explains Premiership rejectionSporting Lisbon striker Rodolph Douala has revealed that he decided to reject a move to Middlesbrough after having a chat with current manager Paulo Bento.
"I decided to stay after speaking with Paulo Bento," Douala said.
"The truth is that I wanted to play more and there were several months when I thought about changing clubs.
"However, I ended up speaking with the coach and I decided to stay. On the other hand the offers that I received did also not meet with what I wanted."
"He told me that he likes me as a player and he understood why I had the desire to leave.
"I want to play, and last season that did not happen, especially after I returned from the African Cup of Nations, but I know that I can give more to Sporting.
"I am very well here and I only think of Sporting in my head. But I do not imagine going to another club now, I am going to earn a place here."
