After shelling out £1m for his loan move from Real Sociedad last term, Goodison boss David Moyes has agreed to take up the option of a full-time move for the midfielder however the toffee’s are now struggling to complete a deal after failing to agree personal terms.
The former Rangers ace has been offered £16,000 a week. But favourable tax rates back home have left Arteta facing a pay cut if he completes his switch.
