Everton target wants £33,000-a-weekReal Sociedad midfielder Mikel Arteta is thought to be in grave danger of pricing himself out of a permanent move to Everton.
The 23-year-old spent six months on loan at Goodison last season and is hoping to make the switch full-time.
However, Spaniard Arteta wants the Toffees to match his £33,000-a-week wages, a figure that Everton are way short of.
He said: "The offer is not what I'm looking for, I'd be earning less than in Spain. It's not just the money, I want a long deal.
"I feel closer to starting pre-season training with Sociedad than Everton."
