Robson still hopeful over JagielkaNewly appointed Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson is hoping in-demand midfielder Phil Jagielka will stay at the club if they can keep their Premiership status.
Robson said: "He has a clause in his contract if clubs offer that money, and we have had a few clubs that have offered that, but not in the way the chairman would like it,"
"So Phil has got to be a little bit patient, he has made it known that he would probably like to move on and stay in the Premiership, but hopefully he might have a difficult decision to make after next week and we are just hoping that goes favourably for us.
He added: "All I know is that Phil wants to play Premiership football, so if Sheffield United are reinstated then there is a chance that he could be playing here again next year."
"If Jagielka goes to wherever then hopefully I've got a bit more funds to bring in top players in which will excite the fans.
"As far as I'm concerned the feeling I'm getting around the club, apart from Jagielka, is that everyone is quite content to stay at the club, and that is how I see it.
"It is a decent sized squad with some decent players in there and I want to build on that and that's what the chairman wants to do as well.
"So we will try to convince all the lads to stay at Sheffield United, have a good challenge next season and get back to the Premiership, that's if we don't win the arbitration and The FA do something about that."
