Pardew satisfied with resultCharlton manager Alan Pardew was not disappointed that his team could only manage to get a point from Reading during their Premiership clash at The Valley yesterday.
"Reading are off the back of a difficult run so I knew the intensity was fantastic from them and they struggled to let us play," said Pardew.
"We had a couple of injuries in the first half that did not help and Song doing that reckless challenge. I had to take him off in the end and all those things disrupted us.
"I would have liked us to play a bit more but the back four were never given a rest to show for the goalkeeper.
"Being pushed it was a tough old game out there. Even though the quality could have been up, especially from us, a point might be important.
"You get a team like Reading and they were a little bit more free in their play and for that, they bossed the game a little bit more.
"It's a clean sheet for us, we keep the run going and we're unbeaten for those ten games. We've got it all to play for and we'll see how important that point is at the end.
"I'm not disappointed from today, the commitment and spirit was there.
"The run-in is going to be tense, your television cameras are going to enjoy it and we'll have to wear it in our faces and in our hair colour."
