Allardyce linked with Reading swoop

Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce is keen to sign Reading star Nicky Shorey to reinforce his defensive options for next season.

Big Sam has already released both Craig Moore and Titus Bramble from his backline and has been linked with various defenders throughout Europe.

West Ham and Tottenham are other teams in the frame for the England international who could move if an offer of £5million was made.
