Millwall boss promised no violenceAs Birmingham visit the New Den in the Carling Cup tonight, Millwall chairman Peter De Savary has been assured his first match in charge will not be blighted by crowd violence.
The Lions’ First Division play-off semi-final against Brum in 2002 ended in English football’s worst crowd trouble of the 21st Century.
However, Lions director Theo Paphitis, chairman on the night of the riot, said: “Conciliation is a great thing and I feel it is very much behind us.
“I’m sure Peter’s reign will get off smoothly.”
