City agree Hibs fee for strikerCardiff City and Hibernian have agreed a fee for Scottish striker Derek Riordan.
Hibs manager Tony Mowbray said: "We all recognise Derek is a talented player and we have made extensive efforts over a long period of time to agree a contract extension.
"Unfortunately Derek has made it clear that he sees his future elsewhere. The move is not yet confirmed and is subject to Derek and his agent agreeing personal terms with Cardiff City."
Riordan's agent Jim McArthur told PA Sport: "I don't know when we'll speak to them. We might not even speak to them."
He added: "Derek has still to decide whether or not to talk to them. I will find out later today what he wants to do.
"I would say that's 50/50 at the moment because he's not really got to go anywhere, or will be pressured to leave.
"He still has 14 months left to go on his contract and he has no problem in honouring that.
"He doesn't have to go anywhere and he didn't even ask to go.
"It wouldn't surprise me if he stays at Hibernian for that time - absolutely not.
"We haven't discussed what it means for him or how he feels but he is still under contract with them."
