Former Liverpool, Blackburn star retires

Former Liverpool, Bolton, Sunderland and Blackburn star Jason McAteer has retired from football.

McAteer started his career at Bolton before making the big move to Liverpool in 1995. He went on to represent Blackburn, Sunderland and most recently Tranmere.

He also made 52 appearances for the Republic of Ireland.
