Pompey: He will leave

Portsmouth Football Club have today confirmed that midfielder Manuel Fernandes will not be signing a permanent deal with the club and will return to Benfica.

Chief executive Peter Storrie said: "The fee, which was set by agents, was too much for us,"

"So Fernandes will go back to Benfica next month."
