Arsenal, Bayern target could stayGerman international striker Miroslav Klose is likely to stay at Werder Bremen next season according to club director Klaus Allofs.
He told the club's official website: "We would have liked him to have come to this decision earlier, but we now have the necessary clarity to approach the final challenges of the season with all our energy."
He added: "The meeting with Bayern was just an exchange of information and not a contract negotiation. It took just 20 minutes but I understand that the timing was poor.
"I would like to apologise for that to Werder and all the fans. I should have told the trainer and manager about the meeting beforehand."
