O'Neill wanted Gunners signing

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has admitted that he was interested in signing Lassana Diarra before he decided to join Arsenal.

O'Neill confirmed: "I saw that we were linked with Lassana Diarra, but I spoke to his agent weeks ago and he always wanted to go to Arsenal. But that wasn't a problem."
