Kompany to test the Chelsea policyAnderlect defender Vincent Kompany is in the mood to try to convince Chelsea he should be their next big-money signing.
When the Belgian outfit visit Stamford Bridge in the Champions League this week Kompany is determined to show why he is rated as one of the best young players in Europe.
He said: "When I heard the Champions League draw my dream came true as I wanted to play against Chelsea.
"I'd like to show Jose Mourinho what I'm capable of.
"I do admire other clubs and managers, but there comes a time when you know the price tag on your head makes it impossible to make certain moves."
The defender added: "Anderlecht are asking a lot of money for me.
"Given the current market even clubs in Italy, Spain and Germany will find it impossible to spend so much for a youngster.
"But because I hold a Belgian passport I can play in the Premier League now.
"For me, playing against Chelsea and the other big clubs in the Champions League is like winning a trophy.
"I see a lot of football in the Premier League — and I think I could handle myself there."
