Reading sign South AmericanEcuadorian international Ulises De La Cruz has officially joined Reading on a one-year deal.
Reading manager Steve Coppell said: "I was quite surprised when Ulises was still available, and he is a player who has played at this level and can compete at this level. We have a long gap between now and the Man City game so that's an opportunity for him to settle down and get his bearings."
De La Cruz, 32, added: "I am very happy to come to my new club, it's very exciting to me.
"I've not played in the last couple of months, so I need to quickly adapt to the team. But I've been training with the players for the last few days and really enjoyed it, everybody is friendly and excited about the start of the season."
"I will work hard every day to look for a place in the side, and help the team to a good season. It's a good opportunity and very motivating for me. I also want to keep playing for my country so I need to get into the team."
