Pandiani bid increased by £1million

After an opening offer of £1.7million was rejected out of hand by Deportivo La Coruna, Birmingham City have now come in with £2.7m for striker Walter Pandiani.

The Uruguayan's agent, Francis Martin, said: "Walter had a chat with the manager and players and that has made him even more determined to sign."
