Mendes left frustratedPortsmouth playmaker Pedro Mendes has admitted his disappointment with his latest injury.
Mendes, 28, was forced to have surgery on his ankle after he was injured against Blackburn Rovers last weekend and could miss the rest of the season.
He told The News: "I've had to undergo surgery, which is not good news with the games we have coming up,"
"It is a ligament injury to the right ankle. It was a simple surgery which was a success.
"But I am still frustrated because of the games that we have to play. We have some big games.
"There is Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and Liverpool coming up, and I wanted to play a part.
"Portsmouth want me to be ready as soon as possible. At the first look it seems I will have to completely stop for two weeks and have the time to recover.
"The medical staff hope I can have more physio and be ready to run then, but let's wait and see."
