Man City reach a Welsh compromiseManchester City and FA Wales are thought to have reached a compromise in the row over Ben Thatcher's fitness.
After Man City refused to allow full-back Thatcher to travel to Cardiff to have his ankle injury assessed by the Welsh squad's medical team, the FAW threatened to report City to FIFA.
However after a day of discussions between City boss Stuart Pearce and Wales boss John Toshack, Thatcher will now be examined by a Wales surgeon at a Manchester hospital on Friday afternoon, so his fitness can be assessed.
A City spokesperson said: "It was felt that it would be wrong to ask Ben to drive to Cardiff with an ankle injury, so now a compromise has been reached that a surgeon will examine him in Manchester."
