Man City open negotiationsManchester City and USA international Claudio Reyna have opened talks over a new contract.
The 31-year-old is currently sidelined after picking up ankle and knee injuries during Saturday's defeat at Arsenal but has become one of the most influential players in Stuart Pearce's side over the last few months.
Although the full extent of the damage has not yet been revealed, Blues boss Stuart Pearce does not expect Reyna to be available until the home game with Blackburn on 19 November.
Pearce told the club's website: "Claudio has had a scan and it looks like it could be a few weeks,
"We will get the full prognosis later this week but he is probably fortunate we took him off as soon as he did it rather than let him go back on."
