Kirkland determined to proveNew Wigan keeper Chris Kirkland has revealed his determination to prove his quality between the sticks now that he has been given a chance by Paul Jewell.
"The last two years have not gone according to plan as people well know," remarked Kirkland.
"The door has now been shut on me at Liverpool, but you just have to get on with it.
"I'm not a bitter person because sometimes these things don't work out. I've moved on and hopefully I can establish myself here.
"Paul Jewell and Wigan have since taken a massive chance on me after not playing for so long.
"But I've done all the training, I've not missed a session and played in games.
"The first couple of appearances were strange after being out for so long, but I'm loving it at Wigan. It's been great."
