Stoitchkov said he intended to rest Atletico Madrid winger Martin Petrov this week so he can fit and fresh for the weekend's big derby against Real.
The Madrid star hit back last night saying: "He usually uses Madrid because at Barcelona they no longer consider him important.
"Speaking about us generates controversy and lets him be on the back pages - because otherwise people will already have forgotten him."
