Bruce admits looking at Sutton returnBirmingham City manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he did consider re-signing striker Chris Sutton before he decided to join his former manager Martin O'Neill at Aston Villa.
He said: "We thought about doing something with him but the lure of the Premiership was always going to be great,"
"We looked at it and, to be fair to Chris, he wanted to go and get himself right above anything else. He didn't want to come and sign for us when he wasn't fit.
"I believe he did it off his own bat and had a personal trainer to get himself in some sort of nick. I wish him all the best. I am sure a fit Chris Sutton will be a good acquisition for the Villa because he's a proper player."
