Brighton signing Premiership veteranFormer Southampton stalwart Jason Dodd says his desire to play regular football was the major factor behind his decision to join Brighton.
Dodd explained to Sky Sports News: "It's fairly close to home,
"I spoke with the manager and chairman and they explained where they want to go. Their forward thinking encouraged me.
"The important thing for me is I just want to play football and if I can force my way into the side hopefully I can bring something to Brighton.
"I hope I can get a ticket or two for Southampton that one is pencilled in, but the most important one for me is Derby away because that's the first game of the season."
