Bramble eyes cup returnNewcastle United’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United is defender Titus Bramble’s target after beginning his rehabilitation from groin surgery.
After efforts to nurse his way through a hernia problem backfired during the quarter-final clash with Tottenham on March 13, Bramble, who had agreed to play through the pain barrier, underwent an operation to repair the damage within days and has now started back on the long haul to fitness.
Club physio Derek Wright said: "Titus saw his specialist yesterday and he is very happy with him and his rehabilitation starts in earnest now,
"He starts exercising as from this moment and we will be building up from there.
"But Titus has not only had a hernia operation, but also a groin disruption and really he has had a bad injury.
"Normally you would be looking at six weeks and obviously the semi-final with Manchester United is before that.
"However, Titus is a great lad to work with and if he does not make the semi-final, then it will not be for the lack of trying, and at this moment in time, I would say it is touch and go and it could go either way."
