Ajax Boss: I want Edgar to join Jaap hereAjax manager Henk ten Cate has called for Dutch legend Edgar Davids to return to the club that started his career to link up with another Dutch hero, Jaap Stam who is also returning home after many years plying his trade abroad.
"Davids would find it terrific if he joined Ajax," Ten Cate told RTL TV show Voetbal Insite. "But there is of course a price tag around his neck and that can make it very difficult.
"I do hope that he joins us though - together with Jaap Stam he's a guy who doesn't need a captain's armband to have authority.
"They can make the young players understand what is needed to reach the top and even more importantly, what they need to do to stay there."
